Cindy Harding ("La Lina")

Cindy was born in Palo Alto, California, and has traveled, studied and performed throughout Central and South America. Libby's older sister, she also was introduced to Latin American music and dance by their parents. Cindy is the only known woman requinto player. She was a founding member of the group Sabiá in 1976, with whom she toured the United States, Central America and Canada. Cindy also performs and records with Andean-jazz group Huayucaltía and Peruvian guitarist Ciro Hurtado. The multi-instrumentalist (requinto, cuatro, quena, zampoñas and flute) is a graduate of The Oakwood School and Brown University, and holds a master's degree in public health from UCLA.
